Norfolk's Notables Project
Countless Norfolk business, community, military and cultural leaders dedicated their lives to the creation, evolution and future of our great city, the state of Virginia and the United States of America. These great men and women are with us each day as we reap the benefits of their hard work and commitment.The Bureau of Cemeteries would like to recognize these individuals for their numerous and diverse contributions by creating an online “notable people” section for each of our eight cemeteries. If you would like to nominate a notable person for recognition, please send his/her name and a brief biographical sketch of his/her life to Bobi Nelson. Please send reference material with your nomination so that biographical information can be verified.
