Norfolk Authorities & Regional Appointments

    Commissioners are appointed by the Norfolk City Council, and serve for terms of four years. One-third of the members may be from areas outside Norfolk. The commissioners shall elect annually one of their members as chairman, vice-chairman.

    This Authority manages the operations of the Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital.

Commissioners are appointed by the mayor and council. No more than three commissioners are practicing physicians, and no officer or employee of the city is eligible for appointment. Terms of office are staggered six-year terms. No more than four successive terms are allowed. The authority selects a chair, vice-chair, and any other officers it deems necessary.
