Job Skills Training and Hiring Event Put Residents on Pathway to Prosperity

Norfolk residents looking for a job or an opportunity to sharpen their interview skills are getting a chance to do both. The Pathway to Prosperity Job Skills Training & Job Fair will offer May workshops at four convenient locations. Then on June 1, a job fair at the Scope will host 75 local employers.

Norfolk Pastors’ Coalition, Opportunity Inc. Norfolk Redevelopment & Housing Authority, Virginia Employment Commission and the City are working in partnership to provide a comprehensive experience for all the participants.

“This is civic engagement at its best,” said Kenneth C. Alexander, Mayor. “Working with the Pastors’ Coalition, we are reaching into the community and empowering people to take steps to improve their lives for themselves and their families.  The workshops and job fair will put people on the right path for success.”
