Case Management System -
The Commonwealth's Attorneys Office is always looking for ways to stay on the cutting edge of Technology. We have a state-of-the-art Case Management System (VCAIS), which is powered by IBM's Lotus Notes Domino Server.
Network Connectivity -
Our Main Office, both the 5th and 6th floor, as well as the Norfolk General District and Circuit Courts are up to date with Wireless G Access Points along with a Gigabyte uplink to the City of Norfolk network.
Equipment -
Our Attorney's have the ability to work in court wirelessly with the Dell D420/430 Travel Notebooks. Attorneys also have the option of connecting to the city's network at home through a Citrix Connection to retrieve email. In the near future, Attorneys will be able to connect to the city's network through a VPN Connection, which will enable them to work from home.
In Court Technology -
We recently purchased two large 3000i Presentation Screens, made by Smart Technologies, for use in the Norfolk Circuit Courts for:
- Evidence Presentation
- DVD/VCR Playback
- White boarding
We currently have 2 units located on the 1st and 2nd floor of the Norfolk Circuit Court.

Video Conferencing -
Our conference room is equipped with the Polycom Video Conferencing Equipment to allow our attorneys to contact the Jails statewide and to interview witnesses. It is also used for Distance Learning when applicable.
