Case Management System
The Commonwealth's Attorney's Office is always looking for ways to stay on the cutting edge of technology. We have a state-of-the-art case management system (VCAIS), which is powered by IBM's Lotus Notes Domino Server.
Network Connectivity
Our Office, the 5th and 6th floors, as well as the Norfolk General District Court and Norfolk Circuit Court are up-to-date with Wireless G access points along with a gigabyte uplink to the City of Norfolk network.
Equipment
Our prosecutors have the ability to work in court wirelessly with the Dell D420/430 Travel Notebooks. Prosecutors also have the option of connecting to the City's network from home via a Citrix connection and/or VPN connection. Two large 3000i presentation screens, made by Smart Technologies, are used by our prosecutors in Norfolk Circuit Court for evidence presentation. Our conference room is equipped with the Polycom video conferencing equipment to allow our prosecutors to contact law enforcement facilities statewide and to interview witnesses. It is also used for employee training opportunties.
