TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS AND UNIFORM FINE SCHEDULE
RULE – 3b:2
Uniform Fine Schedule – For an offense listed below, whether
prescribed by the specified State statute or by a parallel local ordinance
adopted pursuant to the authority granted in Virginia Code section
46.2-1300, where such offense does not result in an accident, a driver may
enter a written appearance, waiver of court hearing, pleas of guilty, and
pay fines and costs. (As of
January 1, 2001, persons who have been charged with a prepayable offense
may plead guilty, waiver a hearing and prepay those charges even if the
charges are the result of an accident). For traffic offenses not listed below, a court hearing

Rule affects bonding procedures for those offenses not listed below. Likewise, nothing in this rule
shall be construed to alter the operation of or the penalties prescribed
pursuant to Sections 46.2-1220 through 46.2-1230 and Sections 46.2-1235
through 46.2-1237.
This schedule is applied
uniformly throughout the Commonwealth, and a clerk or magistrate may not
impose a fine different from the amounts shown here. The schedule does not restrict the
fine a judge may impose for an offense listed here in any case for which
there is a court hearing
Processing fees (court cost) are $65.00 for the first
ticket and $11.00 for each additional ticket.
To be sure you
are mailing the correct amount, call the clerks office before you mail
your payment.
