Norfolk General District Court

Small Claims Court

Collecting Your Judgment

If the defendant will not pay you, you can follow the same procedures under Civil Division for collecting judgments.

Satisfying Your Judgement

Once the defendant has paid you all monies owed, you must mark the judgment paid and satisfied.  To do this you will need to obtain from the clerk’s office a Notice of Satisfaction.  You must do this within 30 days of receiving final payment.  Once the clerk receives your Notice of Satisfaction, the case will be marked paid.
