Excessive Heat Information
Heat is the number one weather-related killer in the U.S. Residents planning to be outdoors during high heat events are advised to drink plenty of water, wear loose, light-colored clothing and remain in shaded areas as much as possible. Friends and relatives are urged to check on people, especially the very young or elderly, or those without air conditioning, who may be vulnerable to the extreme heat.
