Norfolk Sanitary Sewer Testing
In cooperation with the City of Norfolk, Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) will be conducting inspections and repairs of the public sewer system in the City right-of-way in various neighborhoods from late August through December 2014. Residents will be notified at least five days before testing occurs on their street.

To determine which sewer pipes and manholes are most in need of repair or replacement, firms test and inspect these elements on a regular basis. Testing methods include smoke testing, camera inspections, pipe cleaning and night flow testing. These activities typically will not affect sanitary sewer service.

For more information, please view Smoke Testing FAQS.

TapIt Free Water Refilling Network

TapIt locations throughout Norfolk and Hampton Roads.  To learn more about the TapIt program or to download the app, visit askHRgreen.org/TapIt.

Help Keep Our Sewers FOG-Free
Never dispose of fats, oils and grease (FOG) down the drain.  Keep your drains clog-free and healthy by canning the grease, scrapping the plate, catching the scraps with a strainer and recycling large quantities of used cooking oil.

For more information, please visit the FOG Program webpage.
