Mission

The Office of Intergovernmental Relations provides liaison assistance between the City of Norfolk and other governmental legislatures and agencies.

Strategy

We provide professional and technical support including lobbying at the state and federal levels; serving as a liaison with elected and appointed officials; coalition building; obtaining maximum benefit of consultant resources; developing legislative issues and presenting City position options; monitoring, tracking, and reporting legislation and trends; and conducting public policy analysis and process facilitation.
