Firefighter/ST duties

The Application Process

This process begins at Norfolk's Department of Human Resources and includes the following steps for the successful applicant/candidate:

• Written Examination
• B-PAD
• Polygraph Examination
• Background Investigation
• Post-Job Offer Screening Process
• Drug Screening
• Medical Examination
• Psychological Examination

A final interview may also be required. Processing time for a successful applicant is dependent on the number of applicants being considered, and the number of positions available.
