Norfolk Neighborhood Service Centers

History

The concept originated from the former Model City Program in 1968, under the demonstration Cities and Metropolitan Development Act of 1966.   This program provided service delivery to residents in communities where they lived.

 
Our Purpose in the Community 

Girl Scout Council Our commitment is to be the liaison in creating partnerships with citizens, community organizations and City agencies and serve as a focal point for neighborhood building.  Neighborhood Service Centers are designed to meet the various needs of the community by providing programs to our customers such as:
  • Quality health programs
  • Educational programs
  • Recreational programs
  • Social programs
