A meeting of the Norfolk Board of Zoning A ppeals will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2007, in the City Council Chamber, 11th Floor, City Hall Building , Norfolk , Virginia to consider the following applications:

  1. A & I FAMILY DESIGNS, LLC, for a variance from the regulations of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, as amended, to permit a nonconforming structure to be restored in violation of Section 12-3; premises numbered 701 W. 29th Street and zoned R-11 (Moderate Density Multiple-Family) and located in the (PPROD) Park Place Residential Overlay District.  Continued

 

  1. JTH TAX, INC., for an appeal from the decision of the Zoning Administrator regarding the definition of a sign in violation of Chapter 2 of the Zoning ordinance; premises numbered 7931 Shore Drive, and  zoned C-2 (Corridor Commercial).  Continued

WILLIAM SMITH, for a variance from the regulations of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, as amended, to permit a nonconforming structure damaged by fire beyond 50% of its current assessed value to be restored in violation of Section 12-8; premises numbered 415 W. 29th Street and zoned R-11 (Moderate Density Multiple-Family).  Continued

 

  1. K. KINGSLEY HART, for a variance from the regulations of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, as amended, to permit heating and cooling equipment in the side yard without complying with the side yard setbacks in violation of Section 4-7.5 and Table 4-A; premises numbered 1039 Manchester Avenue and zoned R-7 (One-Family).  Continued

 

  1. JULIA & JACKIE CARTER, for an appeal from a Zoning Violation Notice or a variance from the regulations of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, as amended, to permit a six foot solid fence to remain in the required corner side yard in violation of Section 13-6.3; premises numbered 3857 Atterbury Street and zoned R-8 (One-Family). Approved (with conditions/privacy fence may remain as is from the front corner of the single family dwelling, but once it clears the side yard steps, it must comply with the 10 ft. setback in accordance with Section 13-6.3)

 

  1. PAUL & MIA ROBINSON, for a variance from the regulations of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, as amended, to permit an addition without complying with the finished floor elevation requirements in violation of Section 11-3.16 and a second addition in the side yard in violation of Section 4-4.5 and Table 4A; premises numbered 1320 Windsor Point Road and zoned R-4 (One-Family).  Continued
