Historic and Architectural Preservation Committee

Created in February 2008, the Historic and Architectural Preservation Committee is charged with working to preserve and enhance Norfolk's historic properties and neighborhoods and to promote efficient redevelopment and restoration of the City's architectural resources.

The Historic and Architectural Preservation Committee (HAPC) reviews and makes recommendations regarding historic preservation issues in Norfolk, such as designating new historic districts, reviewing City ordinances that address historic areas, and working to promote historic preservation.
