National Historic Districts

Norfolk has twelve historic districts that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Established in 1966 and managed by the National Park Service, the National Register is an official list of buildings, sites, objects and other historic resources across the nation.  Contributing structures in these districts may qualify for historic tax credits for renovation work.
