The Real Estate Ambassador Program and is a partnership between the City of Norfolk and real estate professionals in the region who recognize and are eager to sell Norfolk as a great place to live. Through a specialized curriculum, participating real estate agents learn about Norfolk’s housing and neighborhood patterns, the excitement of city living, and renovation and home ownership incentives.  As a Real Estate Ambassador, agents have exposure to the enormous universe of prospective homebuyers accessing the Come Home to Norfolk, Now website and exclusive access to a variety of resources, promotions and information.  The Real Estate Ambassador Program is based on the “Live Baltimore” model and was developed in collaboration with a focus group of real estate professionals currently specializing in the Norfolk market.

Benefits to Real Estate Agents:

Real Estate Ambassadors will find significant benefits and value to be derived from their membership in this exclusive network of real estate professionals:

  • Listing of Real Estate Ambassadors on the Come Home to Norfolk, Now website;

  • Real Estate Ambassador branding package to include a specially designed logo on a lapel pin; and,

  • Opportunities to participate in Come Home to Norfolk, Now special promotional events.

Benefits to Buyers:

  • Real Estate Ambassadors are experts on the neighborhood and housing patterns and amenities that make up our unique City of Norfolk.

  • Real Estate Ambassadors will be knowledgeable about homebuyers and property renovations, financing and tax incentives, including historic tax credits.

  • A homebuyer will be able to find a Real Estate Ambassador on the City’s web site and other printed promotional materials.

Membership Qualifications

  • Must be a fully licensed real estate agent by the Commonwealth of Virginia

  • Complete the Come Home to Norfolk, Now course

  • Pay course fee of $35
