HISTORIC DISTRICT

A Certificate of Appropriateness is required for any new construction, addition, improvement or alteration made to any structure in a Historic District (See also the Design Review Process). A Certificate of Appropriateness is also required for signs, ancillary mechanical equipment, off-lot parking, moving structures, and demolition of structures

No building permit shall be issued for erection, alteration or improvement, and no certificate of occupancy issued, unless a certificate of appropriateness has first been obtained. In addition, the Board of Zoning Appeals shall take no action in cases where certificates of appropriateness are involved until such certificates are obtained
