REZONING

A rezoning is required when a property owner proposes to use his land for purposes other than those permitted by the Zoning Ordinance in a given zoning district. A request for a change of zoning allows the proposed land use to be reviewed as to its appropriateness in the zoning district.

Similar to a rezoning is a conditional rezoning. A conditional rezoning allows the applicant to proffer conditions that help to ensure that the proposed use will not conflict with the surrounding neighborhood. The process and fees are the same as a regular rezoning.
