The Norfolk Police Chaplaincy Corps consists of volunteer chaplains who provide valuable service
to personnel both during times of trauma and as participants in various department ceremonies. The uniformed chaplains
aid officers and their families when requested and also assist the general public as needed. Chaplains also participate
in the department’s ride-along program wherein they interact with officers and members of the public.
Accessibility is key to the effectiveness of the chaplaincy program. Accordingly, chaplains follow a monthly
on-call schedule; the on-duty chaplain can be reached at any time via pager.
