Norfolk City Parks
The City of Norfolk Parks System includes 2 festival parks, 6 community parks, 64 neighborhood parks, 41 school sites with active park amenities, 7 community centers with active park amenities, 12 school and city shared sites with active park amenities, 5 fee-based recreational areas, and 12 dog parks.* Festival and community parks are listed below. *Note: Active parks are usually ten acres or less and provide some type of recreational component for active play. These components include athletic fields, courts, fitness equipment, and children’s play structures. Primary park users are from nearby neighborhoods. Passive parks are usually ten acres or less, with no active play component or equipment. These parks may be natural areas or City maintained areas or a combination of both.
Festival Parks
Festival Parks are specially designated parks that have permits allowing for festival support and alcohol consumption within the park in compliance with ABC Board regulations.Town Point Park - Norfolk’s newly renovated Town Point Park, located at 201 Waterside Drive, provides seven acres of peaceful green space along the Elizabeth River. Its location in the heart of downtown Norfolk makes it a unique venue. Norfolk Festevents provides a full calendar of festivals and special events during the warm months. When festivals are not taking place, Town Point Park is a lovely respite from the stresses of urban life. Come sit by the water and enjoy lunch or conversation with friends. Town Point Park offers free Wi-Fi and is an excellent gathering spot on weekends as well.

Ocean View Beach Park - This unique 6.5-acre beach park, located at 300 W. Ocean View Avenue, is considered the jewel of Ocean View. The park has a large band shell for presentations and dancing, a beach with lifeguards in the summer, a boardwalk, beach handicap access ramp, and lots of open green space.
