Recreation Centers Information
Norfolk recognizes the value of strong recreation centersthat enrich the quality of life for participants by providing a continuum of services that are integral to the development of neighborhoods. These services are delivered in a manner that ensures collaboration with residents and businesses and meets the City’s goal of obtaining excellence, responsiveness and effectiveness.
Five core services areas offer a variety of educational and recreation based activities: cultural enrichment; health and physical activities; social enhancement; personal development and life skills; and outdoor and environmental education. Particular emphasis is placed on the building and reinforcing of a positive self-image and the positive expression of cooperative feelings in group situations.
Norfolk’s recreation centers offer numerous comprehensive programs developed for individuals requiring special physical attention. These recreation centers provide the environments necessary for “fair play,” equal performance recognition and physical skills development.
The Facility Use I.D. Card provides access to all Norfolk's recreation centers and pools at an affordable rate.
