Audit Team
The Commissioner of the Revenue's Audit Team is responsible for
ensuring equitable assessment of and compliance with licensing and taxing directives of the
Commonwealth of Virginia and the City of Norfolk.
Team Objectives
- Provide superior service and quality on evaluating customer compliance.
- Increase audit coverage through the use of data sharing between the City and local State offices.
- Improve identification of audit risks and increase timely assessments through the use of an interactive license and tax database.
- Employ systematic reassessment and fee application verification through computerization.
- Cultivate alliances between State offices, legislative liaisons and City Councils to preserve their tax bases.
