Personal Property Tax Methods of Payment
The City Treasurer, Anthony L. Burfoot, is committed to the secure acceptance of electronic payments for the City of Norfolk.

For your convenience, personal property tax payments may now be made over the internet using your credit/debit card or by electronic check, and by phone using your credit/debit card. All major credit cards are accepted.

Personal Property Tax Payment Methods
Cash, Check, Money Order, or Certified Funds
Payment by cash, check, money order, and certified funds are accepted. You may pay in person at the Treasurer's Office, First Floor, City Hall Building, 810 Union Street. Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

If your account is flagged with a DMV Stop, Lien or Distress Warrant you will not be permitted to pay by personal check. 

Credit Cards in the Office
Payments by MasterCard, VISA, American Express and Discover are accepted in the Treasurer’s Office during normal business hours. A service fee of 2.3% will be added to all credit/debit transactions made in the office. The Treasurer’s Office does not receive any portion of this fee.

Online/Phone
Visit the customer portal at https://eservices.norfolk.gov to view and pay your personal property tax using credit/debit cards, echecks or PayPal.

To pay by phone call 1-855-766-3030 enter your account number and follow the voice prompts. 

A convenience fee WILL apply to all internet and phone payments. The Treasurer’s Office does not receive any portion of this fee.

Drop Box
There is a drop box in City Hall located outside the City Treasurer’s main gate. The City Hall lobby is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
