THE INAUGURAL NORFOLK FREEDOM HALF MARATHON
  Sunday, November 13th
Norfolk Freedom Half Marathon is being held in the City of Norfolk, VA on Nov 13 2011. This inaugural event occurs Veteran’s Day weekend. the City of Norfolk have partnered to manage these events for the next five years. FMI will host a half marathon in 2011 followed by full marathons in the subsequent years.

The Norfolk Department of Recreation, Parks & Open Space’s Bureau of Cemeteries and Cub Scout Pack 188 invite you to attend a Veterans Day flag raising ceremony at Calvary Cemetery Veterans Lot.
This event is held in commemoration of African American veterans.
Our speaker will be Pastor Dr. Dwight Webster of Ocean View Presbyterian Church.

 
29th INFANTRY DIVISION SHARE D-DAY SURVIVORS MEMORIAL SERVICE

The remaining members of the 29th Infantry Division share D-Day experiences with the crowd as well as placing a wreath at the vase of their monument honoring their fallen comrades.
