C-2 Letter from the City Manager presenting recommendation of the City Planning Commission on the application of Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority to close, vacate, and discontinue a portion of an unnamed lane located between West 38th Street and West 39th Street, parallel to those two streets, and running from the western line of Parker Avenue 600 feet, more or less, to the eastern line of Powhatan Avenue.

ACTION: City Clerk authorized to advertise for a public hearing on February 26, 2002.

R-3 Letter from the City Manager and a Resolution entitled, "A Resolution authorizing the Hampton Roads Partnership to carry out the provisions of the Regional Competitiveness Program (RCP) and approving the fund distribution methodology proposed by the partnership," was introduced in writing and read by its title.

Daniel Montague, 4605 Krick Street, commented he feels the five area cities should merge and be named "Norfolk."

R-4 Letter from the City Manager and an Ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance approving the application for and the acceptance of a grant award of up to $40,420 from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Program, appropriating said funds, and authorizing a local cash match of $40,420," was introduced in writing and read by its title.

Bob Johansen, 330 West Brambleton Avenue #1202, requested a method be established to warn pedestrians of oncoming recreational traffic, especially in the Town Point Park, Waterside and Pagoda areas.
