scheduled this day pursuant to action of the Council on June 8, 2004, under the
State law, public notice having been inserted in the local press by the City
Clerk to hear comments on transferring a single 25-foot lot located on Bowdens
Ferry Road to Norfolk Redevelopment and
Housing Authority.
No one was present to speak concerning this matter.
Thereupon, an Ordinance entitled, “An Ordinance authorizing the conveyance of certain property described as Lot 5, Block 2, as shown on the plat entitled, “Plat of Property belonging to Bellamy, Hough & Hardy, Inc.” to Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority,” was introduced in writing and read by its title.

Charles Peek, 7846 Camellia Road, requested funding for the Urban League of Hampton Roads. In additioned, he commented about the change in the application process and asked Council to re-examine same.
Sarah Sweatt, 6421 Crescent Way, requested funding for the Oakmont North Development Corporation.
Grandmaster E. R. Spruiell, 2725 Stanhope Avenue, requested funding for the School of Judo & Ju-Jitsu, a non-profit organization committed to teaching at-risk youths in the Tidewater area.
Thereupon, an Ordinance entitled, “An Ordinance approving the FY 2005 Annual Plan for the Consolidated Plan (Fiscal Years 2004 through 2008), approving the applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program, and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) Program Funds, $1,985,508.00 in HOME Grant Funds and $235,974.00 in ESG Grant Funds and $238,035 n American Dream Down Payment Initiative Grant Funds, if and when made available, and authorizing the appropriate City Officials to do all things necessary to receive the funds and carry out the programs,” was introduced in writing and read by its title.
