                                      Thereupon, an Ordinance entitled, “An Ordinance to amend and reordain Section 2-3 definitions, Section 6-5 Table of Principal Uses for Commercial Districts and Section 7-6 Table of Principal Uses for Industrial Districts of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992 to create a new definition entitled Boatel and to permit a boatel by special exception in the C-2 (Corridor Commercial) and I-4 (Waterfront Industrial) districts,” was introduced in writing and read by its title.

                                      Daniel Montague, 4605 Krick Street, spoke in support of this ordinance and offered suggestions for the new director of the Office of Homelessness.

New Business

 

1.  Andrew Wallach, 545 Mayflower Road, President of the Colonial          Place/Riverview Civic League, spoke on property tax assessments and urged the council to consider a tax deferment system.

 

2.  Bernard Boykins, 906 Appomattox Street, representing the Disabled American Veterans, spoke on the possibility of a satellite VA Hospital in Norfolk and asked that a committee be formed to address veterans who are homeless.

 

3.  Daniel Montague, 4605 Krick Street, spoke on this year’s budget and asked what the process was for Sherwood Forest Recreation Center to have a pool built.
