President Fraim read a proclamation proclaiming the week of October 15-19, 2007 as National School Bus Safety Week.  John Hazelette, Director of Transportation accepted the proclamation.

PH-1                                                PUBLIC HEARING scheduled this day pursuant to action of the Council on September 18, 2007, under the State law, public notice having been inserted in the local press by the City Clerk to hear comments on the issuance of the City’s Wastewater System Revenue Bond to secure a loan from Virginia’s Wastewater Revolving Loan Funds.

 

                                        Thereupon, an Ordinance entitled, “An Ordinance authorizing the issuance and sale by the City of Norfolk, Virginia, of a Wastewater System Revenue Bond in a principal amount not to exceed $17,000,000 to finance Wastewater System Capital Improvements,” was introduced in writing and read by its title.

                    Alton Robinson, 735 W. 35th Street commented on the need for the police to assist with the block watch.

 

                    Marvin Burch, 235 W. 35th Street, President of Park Place Civic League, requested a partnership with the city and the need to be informed of all projects in the community. 

 

                    Dan Montague, 4605 Kirck Street, commented on smoking in public places.
