President Fraim read a proclamation proclaiming April 2008, Child Abuse Prevention Month in the City of Norfolk. Alfred Stewart and Jan Callaghan accepted the proclamation.

C-1                                 Letter from the City Manager requesting a public hearing be scheduled to hear comments to approve a lease agreement between the City and Aeran Enterprises, LLC, on property located at 240 East Main Street.

NEW BUSINESS

                                     

1.      Gary Duboir, 1433 Kingston Avenue, asked council to look into a pedestrian signal near Lot 39 and a traffic signal near the Cedar Grove Lot. 

 

2.         Beverly Sexton, 348 El Paso Avenue, commented on the salaries and hiring practices of the Police department.

 

3.         Baxter Simmons, Jr., 500 Granby Street, asked the city to consider valet parking for Downtown Granby Street.

 

4.      Danny Lee Ginn, 3844 Dare Circle, commented about good city government.
