Courts are located in the Public Safety Building in downtown Norfolk.The Public Safety Building houses the Jail and Sheriff’s
offices.The Courts are located on the opposite side of the building
from the jail.
To
insure your mail is delivered to the proper office please address
your envelope to the Norfolk General District Court and the proper
division (traffic, criminal, civil).It would also be helpful to list the Courtroom number.

Civil
Courts are in session Monday thru Thursday with a limited docket
on Fridays at 9:00am
Small
Claims courts are in session the First and Third Tuesday of the
month in Courtroom 4 at 2:00 pm and the Second and Fourth Tuesday
of the month in Courtroom 3 at 2:00 pm
As of September 1, 2001 the small claims will only
be held on the first and third Tuesday of the month.
