Curbside collection of recyclable materials takes place every other week, on the same day as your trash collection.

If you collection day falls on a holday, your recyclables will be collected on the same schedule as your garbage.

• Carts must be curbside by 7:00 a.m.
• Leave 3 feet between cart and other items at the curb
• Inquiries should be directed to 757-548-2256

Acceptable Recyclables

• Newspaper & Inserts (place in paper bags)
• Aluminum Cans, Pie Plates and Foil
• Glass Bottles and Jars
  (clear, brown and green)
• Plastic Bottles and Jugs Only (no plastic bags)
• Steel Cans
• Corrugated Cardboard Boxes, please flatten
  no chipboard (cereal or cracker boxes)
• Unwanted Mail & Magazines
• Mixed Office Paper

Unacceptable Recyclables

• Plastic Shopping Bags
• Yard Waste
• Styrofoam Containers
• Wide-Mouth Plastic Containers
  (such as those for yogurt and butter)
