It coordinates long-term, community-wide planning to help the development of resources and services needed by at-risk youth and families. It reports on its actions to the State, serving as the City’s liaison to the State management team.
  • Comprehensive Health Investment Project (CHIP), Virginia Information Resource Center (VPIRC) and Healthy Families Advisory Board work together on one board to address a variety of issues. The CHIP works to promote health and healthy lifestyles for children and their parents; VPIRC works with Norfolk Public Schools on helping parents and their children and Healthy Families seeks to identify new mothers and help them with giving their newborns, up through age 6, a healthy start in life.
