Norfolk Animal Care Center
Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center (NACC)
is the city's animal sheltering facility. Our shelter is open-admission, providing a safe haven for animals from the City of Norfolk. We focus our efforts solely on our local animals in need. Animals are never turned away, regardless of species, age, health, or temperament.

The Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center cares for 400 - 600 animals each month, and nearly 6,000 animals each year.

Adoption Hours:
  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday: 11:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Wednesday: 11:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Thursday: 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm
  • Friday: 11:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Saturday: 11:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Sunday: 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Animals for Adoption
We strive to make the best possible matches between the adopter and their new companion. Take a look at the puppies and dogs, cats and kittens, and other small animals who are looking for forever homes. Look into our adoption programsprocess and fees and begin the adoption process today.

**Spay Neuter Grant Program**
The City of Norfolk is pleased to announce the availability of funds for Spay and Neuter Services and Public Education Programs.  The FY 2016 Approved Budget includes $25,000 for grants to eligible 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit service organization(s) for spay and neuter services and public education programs.  

Funds will be awarded to eligible animal organization(s) to provide low-cost spay/neuter assistance services to income-eligible Norfolk residents and education and outreach programs.  Application deadline is October 2nd, 2015. For information & application
