Veteran & Handicapped Parking
Veteran On-Street Parking

Veterans with the following designated Virginia license plates may park for two-hours at no charge at any on-street metered space.

  • Medal of Honor
  • Bronze Star
  • Navy Cross
  • Distinguished Service Cross
  • Distinguished Flying Cross
  • Purple Heart
  • Silver Star
  • Former Prisoner of War
  • Pearl Harbor Survivor
  • Air Force Cross

Disabled Parkers
Disabled parkers with valid handicap license plates and/or hanging tags may park free at any on-street metered space for the posted time (2 hours at all downtown meters, except Waterside, which is 15 minutes). Or, disabled parkers may park in off-street parking garages and lots when paying posted hourly rates.
