Paul R. Riddick
Paul R. Riddick was first elected to Council in July 1992 representing Ward 4.

He is owner and operator of Riddick Funeral Service in Norfolk. He attended Norfolk State University and has an A.A.S. degree in funeral service from John Tyler Community College, Chester, Virginia.

Mr. Riddick is chairman of the Southside Task Force, serves as Co-Chair of City Council’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and is a member of its Health, Education and Families Committee.

He represents the city as a member of the Southeastern Tidewater Opportunity Project, and serves as an alternate to the Hampton Roads Regional Jail Authority.  He previously served on the Board of the Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads, Regional Jail Authority and the Church Street\Huntersville Development Committee. 

Mr. Riddick is a member and former Vestryman of Grace Episcopal Church; former President of the Norfolk Branch of NAACP; Lead Plaintiff in Riddick v. School Board of the City of Norfolk (filed to halt the return to neighborhood elementary schools); member of Eastern Light 04 Masonic Lodge, Prince Hall Mason; Alpha and Omega Consistory #9; Norfolk Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association; Virginia Morticians Association; Tux Club and Hiawatha Social and Beneficial Association (the two oldest Black men's club in Norfolk); and Bachelor Benedict Social Club (the organization has presented African-American females as Debutantes since 1921). He was voted Omega Psi Phi Citizen of the Year by the Lambda Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi fraternity, and was honored by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority as a "Citizen of Tomorrow."   

Mr. Riddick is married to Cynthia Powell, has five children and is the proud grandfather of eight.
