LOST DOGS
Here are some helpful tips for finding your lost dog:
- Visit NACC every couple of days. We can receive up to 300 dogs in a single month and many breeds can look very similar. You would likely recognize your dog much more reliably than we could.
- Bring a picture of your lost pet to the shelter, preferably a color picture. This will help us assist you better in your search for your lost pet.
- Post color copies of your lost pet around your neighborhood where people gather. We suggest convenience store, post offices, gas stations, etc. Alert your mail carrier; he or she travels the neighborhood daily and may see your pet.
- Post pictures of your pet online: Facebook, Craigslist, and others have helped reunite many pets. Contact us for a list of specific website suggestions.
- Don't give up! Many pets make their way home after weeks or even months.
- For other suggestions, visit ASPCA's lost pet page.
