Norfolk Public Library

An excellent selection of books: fiction and non-fiction, children books, videos, story hour, special programs, computer lab, books on tape, reference materials, DVD’s, large print books and a Family Resource Center.

Immunization Clinic

Offers childhood protection from disease; Services offered to babies, children and adults.
Shots offered: flu shots, booster shots, polio shots, TB skin test, diphtheria, hepatitis shots, pneumonia, chickenpox and others.

Children Dental Clinic

Provides services for pre-school and school age children who reside in the City of Norfolk.  Services include: oral examinations, cleaning, filling and space maintaining.

Comprehensive Health Investment Project (CHIP)

A private/public partnership with the Norfolk Health Department and the Planning Council, designed to serve families living in Norfolk with children 0-7 years to become self-sufficient & ensure that they have a medical and dental home.

Family Planning

Clinic that offers a complete family planning service:  examinations, counseling, educational programs, pharmaceutical and laboratory services.

Baby Care Center

A Virginia Medicaid Program that provides case management services including in-home visitation for high risk pregnant mothers and infants up to 2 years.  Case Management includes needs assessment of the family, development screening, health teaching and referrals.

American Red Cross Adult Dental Clinic

Provides services to adults who are Norfolk residents with no dental insurance and no relationship with a dentist.  All patients must be at or below 125% of the federal poverty level.

General Services

Women, Infant, Children (WIC)

A supplemental food program serving pregnant and/or breastfeeding women, & women who have children 1-5 years who are at a nutrition risk.

Norfolk Department of Human Services

Provides social and financial services to indigent clients and families, including Temporary Assistance to Needy Families(TANF), Medicaid, State Local Hospitalization (SLH), insurance, food stamps and energy assistance (heating and cooling).

Juvenile Court

Provides supervision for youth who are under the jurisdiction of the Norfolk Juvenile Court.

Adult Basic Education (ABE)
Designed to meet the needs of adults 18 years or older who desire to learn basic skills in reading, grammar, writing & math; Also helps students prepare for entering a high school diploma program or a GED review class.
