What is PlaNorfolk 2030? |
Welcome to the website for the City of Norfolk’s General Plan update project, PlaNorfolk 2030: Making Connections. This is where you will find information about this important City-wide, community visioning and long-range planning initiative, where we look 20 years into the future and articulate Norfolk’s priorities and goals for the year 2030.
The name of the project, PlaNorfolk 2030, is intended to not only recognize that a planning document will result from this effort, but also to be action-oriented—recognizing that its success requires the engagement of the entirety of the City organization and the Norfolk community. Together, we will plan Norfolk for the year 2030 and have a collectively-owned roadmap, which we can all easily-reference in the future to stay focused on our goals and check our progress.
The main theme—Making Connections— expresses the important relationships between each part of our community, drawing connections between citizens and their local government; between people and places; between the City’s built and natural environment; between Norfolk and the Hampton Roads region.
