Office of the Purchasing Agent

The Office of the Purchasing Agent procures goods and services for all City departments and maintains an inventory of materials to support certain City operations. Purchases are made under laws, rules, and regulations that have been established to provide for the fair and equitable treatment for all persons involved in providing goods and services to the City.

Such rules and regulations are intended to maximize the purchasing value of public funds in procurement, and to provide safeguards for maintaining a procurement system of equality and integrity. Small businesses and businesses owned by women and minorities are encouraged to participate in the City's procurement transactions. The Purchasing Agent is also charged with the responsibility to dispose of all City owned property that is declared surplus by City departments.
