The Personal Property Tax Relief Act of 1998 provides tax relief for many personal use motor vehicles.

Register your vehicle with the City of Norfolk
You will need to bring the following documents with you:
- Vehicle Registration
- Proof of Residency - bring your lease or mortgage papers (the address must correspond with your identification)
- LES (Active Duty Military residents only)
Your vehicle can be registered at the City of Norfolk Commissioner of the Revenue’s office.
Hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
