The Aquatics Unit will provide The Norfolk Silver Dolphins Swim Team an opportunity to swim and
compete in a regional swim program with its focus on providing an atmosphere where the values of
team work, good sportsmanship, respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring are prevalent in a
recreational based competitive swim program.
The NSD program has been established since 1992. Becoming a team member will bring a
challenge, enrichment and fantastic rewards. The team meets and trains for seven months. It
competes in the Virginia Community Swim League a league that competes through out the Tidewater
area to as far away as Richmond, Virginia. Also competition is held in the United States Swimming
Association which is the next level in top competition that goes throughout the local area, state,
and national competition giving participants opportunity to the Olympics or other international competitions.
NSD members are given the opportunity to travel and a variety of new friends.
