PUBLIC HEARINGS

                                                               

PH-1                                                   PUBLIC HEARING scheduled this day pursuant to action of the Council on February 26, 2008, under the State law, public notice having been inserted in the local press by the City Clerk on the application of the City Planning Commission to amend the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, SO AS TO amend Section 2-3 Definitions to add a definition for fenestration and massing and to amend and reordain Section 4-0.15(c) Nonstandard-width parcels to permit the development of nonstandard lots subject to a Zoning Certificate.

 

PH-2                                                   PUBLIC HEARING scheduled this day pursuant to  action of the Council on March 4, 2008, under the State law, public notice having been inserted in the local press by the City Clerk to hear comments on the acquisition by condemnation of property located at 143 Colley Avenue.

R-1                                 Letter from the City Manager and an Ordinance entitled, “An Ordinance approving the conveyance of two parcels in the former right-of-way of Washington Avenue and Lexington Street, Norfolk, Virginia, to the City of Norfolk by the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and authorizing the City Manager to accept the deed on behalf of the City of Norfolk,” will be introduced in writing and read by its title.

 

R-2                                 Letter from the City Manager and an Ordinance entitled, “An Ordinance approving an agreement to modify easement between the American Heart Association, Inc., d/b/a The American Heart Association, Inc. Mid-Atlantic Affiliate Janaf Shops, LLC, Janaf Crossings, LLC and the City of Norfolk, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement on behalf of the City of Norfolk,” will be introduced in writing and read by its title.

 

R-3                                 Letter from the City Manager and an Ordinance entitled, “An Ordinance accepting the sum of $178,280.00 from the Virginia Port Authority as payment for replacement of a portion of the raw water main system in conjunction with the Commonwealth Railway Mainline Safety Relocation Project in Portsmouth, Virginia,” will be introduced in writing and read by its title.

 

R-4                                 Letter from the City Manager and an Ordinance entitled, “An Ordinance permitting Larry E. and Jacqueline J. White to encroach into the rights of way of 49th Street and Waterfront Drive with 45 feet of Class I and II Mixed Granite Rip Rap, an existing granite block wall and existing dock,” will be introduced in writing and read by its title.

 

R-5                                 Letter from the City Manager and an Ordinance entitled, “An Ordinance to schedule the City Manager’s Budget Presentation on Monday, April 7, 2008 and to change the starting time of the regular weekly City Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at 7:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber,” will be introduced in writing and read by its title.

 

R-6                                 Letter from the City Clerk and a Resolution entitled, “A Resolution establishing a commission to plan and coordinate activities and events commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the End of Massive Resistance and the desegregation of Norfolk Public Schools and appointing its members,” will be introduced in writing and read by its title.
