The water level of Lake Smith (Virginia
Beach) will be maintained at the normal pool elevation of 8.3' NGVD throughout
the year. Previously,
the water level was lowered six inches during hurricane season to reduce
flooding of surrounding streets and homes. The City of Norfolk will
monitor the level of the lake and the weather daily, and will adjust the level
of the lake as required.
