How Much Fertilizer to Apply Per 1000 Square Feet

 Use the following calculation to determine the exact amount of fertilizer to apply per 1000 square feet of lawn area.

Desired lbs. of Nitrogen
per 1000 Square Feet		   x 100 = Pounds of Fertilizer needed per 1000 Square Feet
% Nitrogen in Fertilizer

For example, if one wants to apply 1.0 lb of nitrogen per 1000 square feet using 23-3-7 fertilizer:

 x 100 = 4.34 lbs. of 23-3-7 required per 1000 Square Feet
