NACC is the city’s animal sheltering facility. Our shelter is open-admission, providing a safe haven for animals from the City of Norfolk. We focus our efforts solely on our local animals in need. Animals are never turned away, regardless of species, age, health, or temperament.
The Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center cares for 400 to 600 animals each month, and over 5,000 animals each year.
Important Message on NACC Operations Impacted by COVID-19
Out of an abundance of caution during the uncertainty of COVID-19, all City of Norfolk buildings are closed to the public. NACC has altered its operations to continue to provide animal adoption services and to reunite lost pets with their families.
Acceptance of owner surrendered companion animals is suspended during the closure with the exception of medical emergencies and public safety. See more about NACC’s operations at the link below:
