Norfolk residents have two ways to preregister for the COVID vaccine!

The Virginia Department of Health has a new COVID Vaccine Information Center to help Virginia residents preregister for the vaccine, check their preregistration status and get vaccine information.

The Norfolk Department of Health will continue to help Norfolk residents preregister for the vaccine.  Click How to Sign Up above for online and phone preregistration assistance.

Please note:

All preregistrations entered online or by phone in the Norfolk system are uploaded to the Virginia Department of Health system within 24-hours. Residents can call 1-877-VAX-IN-VA or vaccinate.virginia.gov to check that they are in the state system.

The Norfolk Department of Public Health is vaccinating people in priority groups 1a and 1b.  If you do not know when you are eligible to receive the COVID vaccine, visit the Virginia Department of Health eligibility survey.

Norfolk Health Department staff are reaching out directly to employers whose businesses are identified as essential according to the VDH Phase 1b guidelines. Health Department staff are working with these employers to facilitate the preregistration of their employees for COVID vaccinations. Read more...

Future Plans

When the vaccine becomes more widely available to the general public, the Norfolk Department of Public Health will offer free vaccination clinics around the city of Norfolk.  As supplies increase, vaccines will be available at local pharmacies, private practitioners and other health care providers
