About the presenters

Malaika Karriem is an award winning public relations professional. For the last six years, Malaika has had the pleasure of working with clients in both the public and private sectors. She specializes in brand management, storytelling, social media and marketing. She is also founder and managing partner of Karriem PR, a full-service boutique committed to helping small to midsize businesses, brands and influencers. Malaika received her Bachelor's Degree from George Mason University and holds a Master's Degree in Strategic Public Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Andrew Cooper is the Social Media Coordinator and Photographer for the City of Norfolk, who also serves on the Video and Broadcasting team. He is an experienced communicator and passionate storyteller whose language, images and videos have been used to promote and support the city’s attractions, amenities, residents, departments and staff. His marketing efforts expand the city’s presence in the digital and published world while engaging with residents on a day-to-day basis. Andrew is a Norfolk-native who enjoys soccer, biking, music and traveling.
