Dog Parks

People Gathered on Dog Park Opening DayNorfolk loves dogs and we want to make sure your four-legged friend has plenty of room to run and play! You'll find dog parks located in several city parks and neighborhoods. We offer fenced parks where your dog can play un-leashed and we also offer unfenced parks where dogs have to be leashed. View our map of locations (PDF). Don't forget to leash your dog at parks that are not fenced!

Pups must play nice and owners must scoop the poop. Other dog park rules include:

  • Aggressive dogs must immediately leave the park. Call Animal Control 757-441-5505 if needed
  • Dog owners must remain with their dog
  • Dogs must be leashed entering and leaving unfenced dog parks
  • Dogs must wear valid rabies and city license tags
  • A maximum of three dogs per owner is allowed at any one time
  • No dogs in heat are allowed
  • Owners are legally responsible for any bodily injury and property damage caused by their dog
  • Puppies must be older than four months
