Recreation Centers

Enriching the Quality of Life of the City

Norfolk recognizes the value of strong recreation centers that enrich the quality of life for participants by providing a continuum of services. These services are delivered in a manner that ensures collaboration with residents and businesses to achieve the city's priority of creating safe, healthy, and inclusive communities. Educational and recreational activities offered at the recreation centers cover five core service areas to include:

  • Cultural enrichment
  • Health and physical activities
  • Outdoor and environmental education
  • Personal development and life skills
  • Social enhancement

Particular emphasis is placed on the building and reinforcement of a positive self-image and the positive expression of cooperative feelings in group situations.
