Rentals & Reservations
Meeting Rooms at Southside Aquatic Center
Meeting rooms at the Southside Aquatics Center will be open from 10 am to 7:30 pm Monday through Friday and 10 am to 5:30 pm on Saturdays.
The rooms are available by appointment only and must be reserved. To reserve a room, contact Shemieka Sutton at 757-664-7431 or shemieka.sutton@norfolk.gov.
Rentals and Reservations
To inquire about reserving a park shelter, facility, athletic field, beach, or pool please contact the Division of Athletics and Recreational Sports for permitting requests at 757-823-4304 or by email. The Athletics Division is located at Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center. Hours of operations are Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Permits
SevenVenues provides large event permits that require the following:
- full use of a community park
- event that requires street closures
- event that requires the use of city property in downtown Norfolk
- First Amendment protected expressive activities

Norfolk offers a number of athletic fields for rental. All rentals of fields are coordinated through the Division of Athletics and Recreational Sports, located inside of the Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center. Fields are unavailable for rental during the off-season, November 30 through February 28.
Call 757-823-4304 and staff will assist you in selecting the most appropriate field for your event.

Several Norfolk recreation facilities have been made available for rental. Each recreation center processes their own rentals. Contact your recreation center of choice for availability and rental options. The rental of a recreation center does not include adjacent fields and open spaces. There are five major parks in the City of Norfolk:
In these parks, picnic shelters can be rented out by residents and non-residents. Picnic shelters at Norfolk beach parks are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Shoop Park and picnic shelters are not permittable. The shelters are first-come, first-served basis. The use of generators is permitted at all picnic shelters. No power is provided.
Rentals are available from April 1 through October 31. November 1 through March 31 is the off-season. Shelters can be rented in the off-season; however, park restrooms are closed. Please note that Lakewood can only be rented from 2 to 7 p.m. during the months of September and October. Reservations can be made no earlier than January 1 of the same year.

An application fee ($25 for residents, $50 for non-residents) is included in the rates listed above.
The applicant must provide a completed Facility Use Application (PDF) and additional forms and full payment. Fees are non-refundable. Reservations must be made at least 14 days prior to the date of the event. Accepted forms of payment include Visa or MasterCard, checks or money orders made out to Norfolk City Treasurer.
In the event that the City must cancel a rental due to unforeseen circumstances (closure of the facility, severe weather, etc.) every effort will be made to make other accommodations for the lessee within that rental season. Please note that in the event of inclement weather (heavy wind, rain, or storms) refunds will not be issued for picnic shelters.

Wedding ceremonies are permitted on the sand at Norfolk's three beach park properties (Community Beach, Ocean View, Sarah Constant). To obtain a permit for a beach wedding ceremony, please email Dan Jones with your preferred date, location and number of guests. Our team will contact return your information with additional information.
