Offsite Gallery exhibition "The Street Where I Live" by Jean Peacock
Friday, February 4, 2022
Through a series of oil paintings created during the pandemic, Portsmouth artist, Jean Peacock expresses the joy & love of places lived, & people & things most cherished. With her four-legged companions faithfully by her side, now, more than ever, she discovered contentment in areas of home often taken for granted. A seat at the piano & books on the nightstand were viewed with delight. The backyard soon became her retreat. The Street Where I Live, is a lively portrayal of the beauty that’s all around us, if we just slow down & look.
Peacock studied art at several institutions to include the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris, France, UNC Chapel Hill & the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design, Washington, D.C.
